A few months before I photographed this Baltimore anniversary session, I visited my friend Kait’s house for a lunch gathering with the girls. After seeing and loving the style of her home, I asked Kait and her husband Joe if the two might be interested in getting in front of my camera. It was the first time I’d ever offered an in-home session, but I saw the appeal! Their fresh, clean, and modern farmhouse style would make a great space for a cozy couple’s session at home.
We started in the kitchen where Kait and Joe cook nearly every night of the week. Kait paid homage to her new home with her “Good Morning, Baltimore” mug, a nod to the historic space. We got to talking when Kait mentioned the prior owners of the home were contractors. They had spent some time flipping the home before selling it, and Kait and Joe really got lucky! The vintage appliances and rustic wooden top island create a raw and inviting room to entertain. They added life to the space by adding lots of plants, my favorite of course being the fiddle leaf fig. Other elements such as wrought iron, wood, and open shelving really brought the entire vision together.
Enjoy these favorites from Kait and Joe’s anniversary below!
