This cherry blossom family session was captured by Michelle in March of 2024 at the Tidal Basin in Washington DC. Michelle is a Maryland and DC family photographer available for family and portrait sessions throughout the DMV and beyond.

I’ve been a DC wedding photographer for nearly 10 years. I can’t believe it’s been this long before I traveled to the cherry blossoms to do sessions! I met Alissa, her husband Kevin, and their son, Quinn, at the Tidal Basin cherries in March for mini sessions. Quinn recently turned the big age of ONE, so I was excited to commemorate the occasion with photos of their family!

We all know DC for its classic cherries in the spring. Although capturing photos in March can be chilly and windy, cherry blossom sessions are worth making time for. The blossoms only stick around for about 2 weeks in the early spring before they fall off the trees and leaves begin to sprout.
