This downtown Jackson engagement was captured by Michelle Whitley in February 2022. Michelle is a downtown Jackson engagement photographer and a Mississippi wedding photographer available for weddings and portraits throughout Jackson, MS and beyond.
It was my greatest pleasure meeting fellow photographer, Coriss, and her fiance for their engagement session in Jackson last February. I told Coriss in our consultation what a big compliment it is to me it is to have a colleague reach out about photography their wedding day. It is safe to say she feels the same and we hit it off immediately!
Coriss and James are kind souls. I enjoyed the natural chemistry they shared throughout our session. James made it look easy, as well. He went with the flow, relaxed, and enjoyed every moment which allowed us to create beautiful images together!
From the Couple:
“James and I meet last April at a Delta State University Alumni Chapter Meeting at Iron Horse Grill. Our mutual friend Tara wanted us to meet and we have been together ever since. We love to cook together, and laugh and joke with each other. We love the simplicity of life – just spending time together. An ideal date night would be to go to a concert and enjoy live music.”
The Proposal
“James proposed to Coriss at the reservoir during sunset on December 4, 2021. (The reservoir is the place where we ended our first date.) He had a professional photographer there that he met earlier that week to set location and time so all the moments would be captured. James also reserved the room where we first met at Iron Horse Grill without Coriss knowing. Both families and friends showed up and surprised Coriss upon entrance. It was a beautiful night of love.”
