Kristi and Kevin’s wedding at Dulany’s Overlook was the first time I’ve worked in Frederick in over two years! I was hired by Sarah Tapanes again to help capture their day as a second photographer. This venue is one of several owned by Walker’s Overlook, LLC and I liked how comforting it felt when I arrived. It boasts both a bride and groom getting ready suite, as well and ample areas around the property for portraits. Kristi and Kevin’s ceremony was held on the east lawn behind the gardens overlooking the gorgeous rolling hills of Frederick.
Kristi wore a gorgeous beaded sleeveless gown to set the mood for the day, while Kevin also brought the charm in a lux navy tuxedo. I enjoyed how the bridesmaids coordinated in dusty lavender mismatched dresses. The wedding couple met in the gardens for a first look before the ceremony.
A definite theme for the day was draught beer. Kristi and Kevin came up with this idea as both their last names coordinated with breweries around the world. Such a cool and creative idea! They made sure to include the same beers at cocktail hour for guests to enjoy before sitting down to dine upstairs.
After dinner, Sarah and I grabbed the couple for a few epic sunset photos in front of Dulany’s. The golden light was absolutely stunning. Kristi and Kevin, thanks for allowing me to be a part of something so special, and thank you to Sarah for bringing me along for the fun.
