About the Day
This wedding was one I’ll never forget. I remember speaking to Alyssa on the phone shortly after she and Mike made the difficult decision to move up their wedding from September to July due to COVID. There was sadness in her voice, along with fear, worry, and uncertainty. I could feel it. Having the rug painfully pulled out from under is never something we could have imagined would happen. But deep in my heart I knew that was the best decision they could have made. What once was a hesitant decision to change their plans became the most unexpected, perfect, unscripted, marvelous day we could have wished for. And it was better—so much better.
My favorite part of this day was Alyssa’s very emotional first look with her father. We could tell this would be a special moment and were ready to capture it. The father/daughter relationship is so special to me due to my own relationship with my dad, therefore you could bet I teared up a little.
Throughout the rest of the day we experienced other joyous moments such as Alyssa and Mike’s exchange of vows and sweet speeches from family and friends. What an incredibly amazing emotional day this was and I was honored to be a part of it.
