As a Virginia wedding photographer since 2016, I’ve grown to capture unique couples in some of the most beautiful venues around the state. Therefore I wanted to compile a list of my favorite Virginia wedding venues for those couples on the hunt for a place to say “I do.” These venues are all locations I have personally photographed and are place of which I believe exude excellence in customer service, amenities, and value. I hope you find this article helpful as you continue your wedding planning journey, and don’t forget to leave a comment below if you’ve married at any of these locations!
Great Marsh Estate
It’s no surprise that Great Marsh Estate in Bealeton has made my list of top Virginia wedding venues. I’ve captured countless weddings and events here and it is always an enjoyable experience for both my couple and my team. The best features of Great Marsh are the tree-lined drive as you enter the property, perfect for portraits any time of day, and the stunning bridal suite for getting ready. If you’re looking for an incredible experience and an all-inclusive location near Washington, DC, Great Marsh Estate is a great choice!

Mount Ida Farm & Vineyard
This Charlottesville wedding venue is one I recently photographed in the Fall of 2020. Beautiful portrait spots are located all around the Manor House. This is perfect for those warm summer months when the couple needs to retreat inside to cool off. Then there are the grand steps leading to the iron ceremony gazebo. Need I say more? You’ll simply have to see it for yourself! Be sure to schedule a time in advance for a walkthrough at Mount Ida.
Stone Tower Winery
If you’re searching for the top winery wedding venue near Leesburg, Stone Tower Winery is a must-see! From a lively tasting room to the delicious wines, your guests will have an incredible experience. Stone Tower also boasts of my favorite overlooks in Virginia wine country and amenities are close-by for moving around with ease on your wedding day. Schedule a relaxed visit to the tasting room in late April to experience all this venue has to offer.
Blue Hill Farm
Blue Hill Farm in Waterford is the perfect rustic venue with modern touches,. This venue is a bed & breakfast offering overnight accommodations with so many amenities! Nearby is the ceremony location with a stunning view. Another short walk away is an air-conditioned barn and pool where guests can enjoy themselves during cocktail hour. Blue Hill looks amazing with a tented reception, as well!
The Oyster Farm at Kings Creek
Getting married at the Oyster Farm in Cape Charles is an experience to remember! This waterfront wedding venue is located on the outer banks of Virginia. I enjoyed the all-inclusive services they offer for both ceremony and reception. There are gorgeous portrait locations on the water’s edge behind the venue, as well. For a tropical vacation-style mini getaway for you and your guests, keep the Oyster Farm on your list.
Bluemont Vineyard
My final vineyard/winery venue recommendation is Bluemont Vineyard. This venue is family-owned with both traditional and rustic vibes. Located in Bluemont, Virginia, it’s a short drive from Washington, D.C. The most notable part of Bluemont’s wedding experience is their delicious menu. If you’re a huge foodie like myself, Bluemont has the best farm-to-table dishes available!
