Fall family photos had been in my short-term plans for a couple years, and we finally made time to do them last month. Michael and I flew home to Mississippi to visit family for a few days before going to Mexico for vacation. We have never stayed gone that long since living in Maryland. Now that I work from home and Michael is a full-time dietitian, we have more time off as a result. We took the opportunity to spend half of our two-week vacation with family, and it was the best decision!
Before we arrived I wanted to make sure there was a photographer available who could take a few pictures of all us together. Ashley Upchurch is a Mississippi wedding photographer I’d been following for years. She also shoots family photos, and I was so excited when she told me she was available. Also, I loved Ashley’s work in the cotton fields so I asked right away if that was a location option, and she said yes!
The day of our session the sun was shining and the weather was beautiful. Michael and I brought along his parents, his dad’s parents, his mom’s mother, and his uncle, for a total of eight people. Everyone present is on his side of the family, however his sister was unable to make it to the session.
These are some of my all-time favorite photos of Michael. I love his genuine smiles and relaxed body language, and he was such a trooper! Also, I was thankful for his patience and support for the rest of the family. I’m grateful we grabbed a few shots of Michael’s grandparents who are in their 80s. They will be such keepsakes and wonderful memories someday.
Thank you Ashley Upchurch Photography for the beautiful images!
